As a devoted fan who has grown up with the Addams Family, the news of Jenna Ortega reprising her role as Wednesday brings me an unparalleled joy that only a fellow connoisseur of the macabre could understand. The anticipation for Season 2 is like waiting for the graveyard ghouls to rise on All Hallow’s Eve!

Jenna Ortega is back as the Addams family’s death-loving daughter.

In the first picture revealed for Season 2 of “Wednesday,” Ortega can be seen standing grimly with her arms crossed, amidst a creepy outdoor setting that appears to be a cemetery, complete with a gothic gate and statues in robes holding lanterns in the background. This image marks the first glimpse into the Netflix series’ second season; however, a behind-the-scenes clip was previously shared. The photo was unveiled shortly after filming for Season 2 concluded in Ireland, with the new season scheduled to air in 2025.

As a devoted fan, I’m excitedly diving into the captivating narrative of “Wednesday,” a series that unfolds at the enigmatic Nevermore Academy, a place steeped in history, as it was here that my favorite characters, Morticia (brilliantly portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (charismatically played by Luiz Guzmán), crossed paths 25 years ago. In the thrilling Season 1, Wednesday embarks on a journey to harness her budding psychic skills while simultaneously hunting down a monstrous menace that has been wreaking havoc in our town.

In addition to Ortega, Zeta-Jones, Guzmán, and others, the Season 2 cast features Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo. Notably, Zeta-Jones, Guzmán, Ordonez, and Lewis-Nyawo have been promoted to series regulars. Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane will reappear in guest roles, while newcomers include Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo. Furthermore, it’s rumored that Lady Gaga will make a special appearance.

In the television series “Wednesday,” Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are the producers in charge, with Tim Burton taking on the role of director. Collectively, they, along with Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman from 1.21 Entertainment, Kevin Miserocchi of the Tee and Charles Addams Foundation, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman of Glickmania, Gail Berman, Tommy Harper, and Kevin Lafferty, serve as executive producers.
