Interestingly, the actor who played Wedge, Denis Lawson, is Ewan McGregor’s uncle – the actor who later played Obi-Wan Kenobi – adding to Wedge’s memorable place in the Star Wars story.

Following this victory, he joined Luke in Red Squadron and became famous as the first pilot to disable an AT-AT walker during the Battle of Hoth.
