As a cinephile who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of television and film, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of loss upon hearing about Waymond Lee’s passing. His career spanned over two decades, and he left an indelible mark on some of our favorite shows, from “Comedy Central’s ‘Workaholics'” to “Dexter” and “Grey’s Anatomy.

Waymond Lee, best known for his role in Comedy Central’s “Workaholics,” has died. He was 72.

Initially, TMZ broke the news and received confirmation from both Diane Lee (his wife) and Norine Lee (his sister) about Waymond Lee’s demise. Sadly, he passed away on December 18th following a prolonged fight against ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease – a condition that affects the nervous system, leading to the progressive weakening of muscles in the body.

Lee received the initial diagnosis for a brain disorder back in October, however, more recent tests conducted this month confirmed that it is indeed ALS.

In 44 episodes of the Emmy-nominated comedy series “Workaholics,” which ran for 86 episodes from 2011 to 2017 and focused on three slacker roommates in southern California, Waymond Lee was cast as Waymond – a quiet and unassuming coworker. The trio of oddballs, played by Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, and Anders Holm, were collectively known as the “Workaholics.

As reported by TMZ, the family of Waymond Lee depicted him as someone deeply sentimental, with a tender heart and an unusual reluctance to grumble over putting in extended work hours.

Beyond his leading role in “Workaholics,” Waymond Lee also made brief, unacknowledged appearances in several other shows such as “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Bullet Train,” “The Cleaning Lady,” “Superstore,” “The Laundromat,” “American Bistro,” “The House,” “Other People,” “Shameless,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Dexter,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Iron Man 2,” “Angels & Demons” and “Bones.” Additionally, he played Senator Yinui in the series “Veep.

Waymond Lee is survived by his wife, Diane Lee, and his sister, Norine Lee.
