A California homeowner discovered the reason for a strange late-night noise at his door after checking his security camera recordings.
Dennis Webster was startled awake at his Grand Valley, California home late at night by his doorbell. When he went to investigate, he found no one outside. He then checked his doorbell camera to see who had rung it.
A video captured a bear walking onto a porch late at night. It sniffed around the front door, then stood up on its back legs and peered at the camera. The bear playfully pushed the doorbell with its nose before casually walking away.
Webster posted the video on Facebook with the caption, “Caught our ding-dong ditcher on camera.”
Reactions to the viral clip
People continued to joke about Webster’s post, and one commenter wrote that the bear had come to complain about garbage cans labeled as ‘bear-proof.’
Someone else commented that it was a very close encounter, suggesting the animal was interested in the delicious Thanksgiving food being cooked.
The recent video of a bear visiting Webster’s home isn’t the first of its kind to become popular online. Last year, a TikTok video of a bear snatching a Taco Bell order from a family also went viral, racking up millions of views.
