As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 was a rollercoaster ride filled with adrenaline-pumping moments, but none quite compared to the jaw-dropping display by G2 Esports’ Guatemalan rifler, malbsMd. The double knife against NAVI in the Grand Finale was not just a clutch, it was a statement of his sheer skill and determination.
At the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024, G2 Esports squared off against NAVI in an exhilarating final match. The event was a visual feast and a testament to extraordinary talent, with the formidable pairing of Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov serving as G2’s driving force, ultimately securing the championship trophy.
Despite their accolades being plentiful, I found one of the most captivating performances in the final match wasn’t from either of them. Instead, it was the Guatemalan player from G2, Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa, who stole the show.
To start, the initial map during the Grand Final established the pace, and it was neck-and-neck in the first half, with both teams scoring six points each. As G2 moved to the T side following a switch of positions, they managed to plant a bomb during a crucial round where only pistols were allowed. The ensuing post-plant scenario and NAVI’s desperate attempt to defuse on the A site was filled with tension.
When player ‘malbsMd’ charged into Site A to halt NAVI’s bomb diffusal, Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen was already there with a kit. malbsMd navigated through the smoky environment and swiftly killed Aleksib, thereby preventing the bomb from being defused with just 1.61 seconds remaining on the timer.
In a relentless thirst for blood, MalbsMd didn’t pause his rampage and additionally stabbed EPL S20 and Major MVP Justinas “jL” Lekavičius as if it were an ordinary workday. You can watch the full video of the double-knife against NAVI below.
In June 2024, malbsMd moved from M80 to join the ranks of G2 Esports. Surprisingly swift, he’s proven himself capable in top-tier competitions and against formidable opponents.
He’s had a huge event, with several memorable clutches, multi-kills, and taking a lot of responsibility on himself as both Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač and Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski wasn’t in the best of form. malbsMd is quickly becoming a rock for G2 esports, and his skill level is frightening.
At BLAST Fall Final 2024, we also witnessed another remarkable knife kill that left an impression, and it was none other than Team Liquid’s young AWPer, Roland “Ultimate” Tomkowiak, successfully taking down Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut on the Nuke map.
