HBO recently shared a sneak peek at the intricate makeup transformation of Colin Farrell into Oz Cobb (aka The Penguin) for an upcoming television series. In this video, we witness the detailed and time-consuming process of turning Farrell into his character, featuring the application of prosthetic teeth, hair, and makeup, followed by the fitting of a body suit.
In the video, Farrell expresses that the experience was both intense and thrilling. Interestingly, this video emerged at a time when Farrell’s comments about the series’ makeup and costumes, which were not particularly favorable, have been widely shared.

On September 19, “The Penguin” premieres with Colin Farrell playing the lead character. Additionally starring are Michael Kelly as Johnny Vitti, Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Theo Rossi as Julian Rush, and Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo in this series.
According to Farrell, The Penguin is described as “extremely dark and heavy.” Additionally, the actor noted that the show is “extremely violent,” “very twisted.” However, Robert Pattinson will not be appearing in The Penguin, neither as Bruce Wayne nor Batman. Fans will have to wait until 2026 for Pattinson’s return as Batman in The Batman II.
