Warner Bros. Omits The Batman Part 2 From 2027 Release Sizzle Reel

There’s concern that The Batman – Part 2 might be delayed again. The movie wasn’t mentioned during Warner Bros. Discovery’s recent presentation, sparking speculation. While a sequel starring Robert Pattinson was confirmed as early as April 2022, director Matt Reeves faced challenges, including the 2023 writers’ strike, which slowed down script development and submission to DC Studios’ James Gunn. Originally planned for October 3, 2025, the film has already been pushed back twice – first to October 2, 2026, and now to October 1, 2027.

I just got a sneak peek at what Warner Bros. Discovery has planned for 2027 at their CinemaCon presentation, and it looks exciting! They showed off a reel of upcoming films, including James Gunn’s take on Superman, which they’re calling Man of Tomorrow. Plus, they’re continuing the adventures with A Minecraft Sequel, and we’re in for another monster mash with Godzilla vs. Kong: Supernova. It’s a solid lineup hitting theaters next year!

  • Remain
  • A Minecraft Sequel
  • Panic Carefully
  • Margot Robbie’s Oceans 11
  • Bad Fairies
  • Margie Claus
  • Man of Tomorrow
  • Shiver
  • Evil Dead Wrath
  • Godzilla v Kong: Supernova
  • Nancy Meyers’ untitled movie
  • Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum

The recent list reveals that Warner Bros. Discovery didn’t mention The Batman Part 2, suggesting the movie—and the future of the Robert Pattinson-led DC series—may be delayed. This is unexpected, as the sequel was expected to be one of Warner Bros.’ biggest releases next year.

Despite recent uncertainty, The Batman Part 2 remains on Warner Bros.’ list of future projects, suggesting the studio hasn’t ruled out a 2027 release date, though it’s not yet confirmed.

Okay, so it sounds like things are really starting to move on the next DC film! Production’s set to kick off on May 29th, and the code name for the project – ‘Semper Vigilans’ – has got fans buzzing. A lot of people are thinking this might mean we’ll finally see the Court of Owls show up as the bad guys. Plus, we already knew Sebastian Stan was going to be playing Harvey Dent, and now it seems even more likely he’ll be fully embracing the Two-Face persona. I’m honestly super excited to see where they take this!

I’m incredibly excited for The Batman – Part 2! The first movie was fantastic, and I really love the direction Matt Reeves is taking with Batman and this whole world he’s building. Plus, the cast is amazing – and now they’ve added Stan and Scarlett Johansson? Seriously, it’s going to be epic!

Will The Batman Part 2 Be Delayed Again?

Currently, The Batman – Part 2 is still scheduled to come out on October 1, 2027, but that could change. Any delay would seriously hurt the film’s growing excitement, which has been building thanks to recent casting announcements, sneak peeks, and interviews with people involved.

With the first movie coming out in March 2022, a long wait for the sequel could dampen fans’ enthusiasm for Robert Pattinson as Batman. This is especially true knowing James Gunn is already developing a new Batman film, Brave and the Bold.

This delay could also affect plans for a trilogy of films directed by Matt Reeves, as a significant gap between installments would likely be required.

Even though it’s a setback, a delay for The Batman – Part 2 could actually be helpful. It would allow filmmakers to polish the script, finish building sets, and most importantly, find the right actor to play the key villain, Christopher Dent, who currently doesn’t have a cast member.

Let’s hope Warner Bros. and DC Studios soon clarify the release date for The Batman – Part 2. That way, fans won’t be disappointed if the movie gets delayed again.
