Warframe: 1999 Will Let You Do Battle With A '90s Boy Band

As a dedicated Warframe gamer with thousands of hours under my belt, I’ve grown accustomed to the sleek, futuristic combat and expansive open worlds of this beloved free-to-play title. But today, during Tennocon 2024, Digital Extremes dropped a bombshell that left me in awe: Warframe: 1999, a narrative-driven spin-off quest that takes us back to the late 1990s!

At Tennocon 2024, I was thrilled as Digital Extremes unveiled an exciting new gameplay trailer for Warframe: 1999, a captivating quest spin-off for Warframe with a late 1990s setting. The trailer was packed with awesome action sequences, but what truly caught my attention was the introduction of a nerve-wracking boss fight. In this battle, the deadliest adversary might not be the enemy I face in the game, but rather the insidious earworm that burrows into my real-world consciousness and haunts me long after the fight is over.

In the trailer’s opening scene, an abandoned shopping mall serves as the backdrop, filled with outdated computers and a row of dusty arcade games. A group of Protoframes, headed by the protagonist Arthur, embark on a mission to capture Dr. Entrati. For Warframe enthusiasts, she is recognized as the pioneer who initially interacted with the Void, bestowing the Tenno with their unique abilities.

In the trailer, various action scenes showcase the latest Atomicycle vehicle and its innovative weapons such as the AX-52 rifle. There’s also an intense battle against a large tank, reminiscent of late ’90s nu-metal music. Additionally, we are introduced to Arthur’s teammates: Amir, the brilliant scientist, Aoi, who handles logistics, and Quincy, an expert marksman with the new Warframe, Cyte-09.

As an avid fan, I can’t help but get excited when I see the trailer coming to an end and the introduction of Technocyte Coda, an Infested version of my favorite in-universe boy band On-lyne. Their entrance is perfectly timed with their popular hit single “Party Of Your Lifetime” playing in the background. And the best part? I can listen to this catchy tune on all major streaming platforms right now!

As a long-time fan of Warframe, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates that are coming our way! With my years of experience playing this game, I can confidently say that these new additions will surely add more depth and excitement to the already rich universe.

I’m thrilled to share that I can now play Warframe on my Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or PC! It feels great knowing that no matter which platform I choose, I can immerse myself in the world of Warframe and join the community of players.
