
VTuber Amakusa Miro, known for her unique gaming style – playing video games with her feet – recently shared that she’s become so skilled, she’s actually developed a new muscle near her ankle.
Miro isn’t just a digital personality—she’s a serious gamer with an ambitious goal: to become a top Splatoon player, and she’s attempting to do it all using only her feet.
She was so confident in her skills that she created a new account to start from the very beginning, aiming to climb from C Rank all the way to the top X Rank in the game.
She doesn’t just play Splatoon! She’s also streamed gameplay of games like Monster Hunter Wilds, Ark Survival Evolved, and Mario Kart World – and she even plays using her feet to prove they’re just as skilled at gaming as her hands.

VTuber gets foot ‘gains’ after using feet to play video games
She’s trained her feet so extensively that she’s developed an extra muscle on the side of her left foot, near her ankle, as she shared in a social media post on March 19th.
After five years of using foot pedals for gaming, she developed a painful bump on her ankle and a growth on her foot.
After playing a game using my feet for five years, I’ve developed an extra ankle – seriously! It’s a bit of a strange situation, to say the least.

It’s doubtful she grew a completely new muscle, but it appears she’s strengthened an existing one – the Extensor Digitorum Brevis. This muscle is located on the top of the foot and helps control the movement of toes two through four.
You can often see it on the side of her foot, particularly if it’s swollen from an injury or if she frequently stretches her toes. Miro tends to lift her left foot while gaming, using it to operate the joystick and directional pad.
She frequently rests her right foot flat on the side of the controller, mainly using it to press the face buttons – typically for actions like attacks or using items.
Miro playfully teased that her muscle development was so noticeable, she could start selling advertising space on her feet to sponsors. She jokingly nicknamed the muscle her “Amakusa muscle.”
A Japanese tech company recently created a unique way for fans to experience virtual concerts: vibrating balls that move in sync with the VTubers’ performances. It’s the latest fun development coming from the VTuber world, designed to make fans feel even more connected to the show.
