‘Virgin River’ Renewed for Season 7 at Netflix

As a cinephile with over three decades of movie-watching under my belt, I must admit that “Virgin River” has managed to capture my heart and keep it beating with anticipation for each new season. The way this show effortlessly blends romance, drama, and small-town charm is truly a sight to behold, like watching the sun set over the picturesque town of Virgin River itself.

Netflix has announced that the romantic drama series “Virgin River” will return for a seventh season, around two months ahead of its upcoming Season 6 debut on December 19th. This news was shared via their official Instagram page by the show’s cast.

In the role of showrunner once more, Patrick Sean Smith – known for his work on “Greek” and “Chasing Life” – will be delivering an additional 10 hour-long installments.

The television series, “Virgin River,” follows the story of nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), who leaves bustling Los Angeles to pursue tranquility in the secluded California town of Virgin River. However, she discovers that rural life isn’t as straightforward as it seems.

The sixth season unfolds amidst the charming atmosphere of Mel and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) spring wedding. According to Netflix, it delivers surprising plot twists and tangled love triangles, exciting wedding-related intrigue, revelations about secrets hidden in Mel’s father’s past that take us back to the allure and enigma of Virgin River during the 1970s.

The TV show “Virgin River” is adapted from a collection of over 20 novels written by Robyn Carr, with combined sales exceeding 13 million copies.

Joining Breckenridge and Henderson as series regulars are actors Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure, and Mark Ghanime.

The directors for Season 6 are Martin Wood, Rama Rau, Felipe Rodriguez, Henderson, and Monika Mitchell, all of whom will be helming the production.

The executive producers for this show are Smith (the showrunner), Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Robyn Carr, Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, and Jennifer Monroe.
