As a lifelong movie enthusiast who has seen my fair share of action thrillers, I can confidently say that Viola Davis’ upcoming film “G20” is shaping up to be a standout addition to the genre. Having witnessed Davis’ exceptional acting skills throughout her illustrious career, including her EGOT-winning performances, I have no doubt that she will bring an unparalleled level of intensity and depth to the role of U.S. President Danielle Sutton.
The concept of a world leader under attack at the G20 summit is not only timely but also ripe for suspenseful storytelling, making it a perfect fit for Davis’ talent. Director Patricia Riggen’s vision for this film seems to strike an ideal balance between classic action-thriller elements and modern-day technological advancements, promising a thrilling experience that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
What excites me most about “G20” is the opportunity to see Davis in a role that showcases her action hero prowess. As someone who has followed Davis’ career since her days on “The Wire,” it feels like a dream come true to imagine her kicking ass and taking names as President Sutton.
In terms of the supporting cast, I’m particularly intrigued by the presence of Anthony Anderson and Marsai Martin, both of whom have proven themselves to be talented actors in their own right. The ensemble looks promising, and I’m eager to see how they bring the characters to life on screen.
To sum it all up, “G20” has all the ingredients for a successful action thriller – a compelling story, an exceptional cast, and a director with a clear vision. As someone who appreciates well-crafted movies, I can’t wait to see Viola Davis in this exciting new role.
And as a final thought, I can’t help but wonder if President Sutton will have her own version of the iconic “I am the president” line from Designated Survivor. Perhaps something like, “I may be the president, but tonight, I’m just another action hero.” Now that would be a sight to behold!

Davis, who is among a select few to achieve EGOT status by winning an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award, recently discussed her portrayal of Sutton at the Red Sea International Film Festival held in Saudi Arabia, where she was recognized just last month.
Davis stated that the character Danielle Sutton, who started as a war hero and later won an election on a liberal platform, was reminiscent of a fantastical hero one might dream up as a child. Coincidentally, this fictional story seems to reflect some aspects of American politics, but it’s primarily intended to be an entertaining film.
