As a long-time gamer and avid Marvel fan who’s seen more than my fair share of graphic violence in video games, I can hardly contain my excitement for Daredevil: Born Again. The original Daredevil series was already pushing the envelope with its TV-MA rating, but Vincent D’Onofrio teasing that this new installment could be even more violent is making my heart race!
Among all the actors from the Daredevil series, Vincent D’Onofrio remained steadfast in his belief that the show would resurface eventually. In the coming year, D’Onofrio, Charlie Cox, and many other cast members will reappear in Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again. Contrary to popular expectation, it seems that the series’ graphic TV-MA violence may actually be intensified in its new home, according to D’Onofrio’s hints.
In his conversation with Rotten Tomatoes, D’Onofrio mentioned that certain aspects of this new series exceed what was presented in the original show. There’s a specific action taken by his character that he finds hard to believe managed to make it through the editing process.

We saw the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again at D23, and it was every bit as violent and graphic as D’Onofrio indicated. Considering that the original Daredevil included a scene where D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin murdered a man by decapitating him with a car door, it’s hard to picture what he could do that would be more shocking than that. Aside from Daredevil, D’Onofrio has reprised his role in Hawkeye and Echo. The latter show teased that Fisk may follow in the footsteps of his comic book counterpart by running for Mayor of New York City.
In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” which is set to debut on Disney+ in March 2025, you’ll find Deborah Ann Woll playing Karen Page, Elden Henson portraying Foggy Nelson, Ayelet Zurer taking on the role of Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, and Jon Bernthal reprising his character as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher.
