Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice has even more streaming viewers than names in its title.
BenDavid Grabinski, the creator of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, wrote and directed the upcoming 2026 film Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. The movie centers around two friends with ties to crime, and their friendship is tested when a time machine throws their loyalties into question. It features a talented ensemble cast including James Marsden, Eiza González, Keith David, Ben Schwartz, Dolph Lundgren, Jimmy Tatro, Emily Hampshire, Lewis Tan, Stephen Root, and Vince Vaughn, who plays both the current and future versions of a single character.
The new movie Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice quickly became popular after its release on Disney+ and Hulu on March 27th. On March 29th, it reached the No. 2 spot on Disney+’s daily list of most-watched movies and shows, just behind the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special. It also topped the charts on Hulu’s list of the top 10 U.S. movies, placing ahead of the Hannah Montana special.
The James Marsden film is also doing well internationally on streaming, according to FlixPatrol, a service that tracks streaming popularity. Currently, it’s the third most-watched movie on Disney+ worldwide, behind the Hannah Montana special at number two and Zootopia 2 at number one. It’s even outperforming popular titles like Predator: Badlands (number five), Avengers: Endgame (number seven), and The Devil Wears Prada (number nine), which has recently gained popularity with its sequel on the way.
I’m so excited to see how well Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice is doing! According to FlixPatrol, it’s currently in the Top 10 on Disney+ in over 40 countries! It hit number one here in the US on Hulu, which will eventually be part of Disney+, but it’s doing incredibly well internationally too. It’s number two in Canada, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, and Lithuania, and it’s cracked the Top 5 in almost 30 other places! It’s really connecting with audiences around the world.
The show quickly became popular, likely because critics have been very positive about it. It currently has a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes – the highest score for a James Marsden movie (that isn’t part of the Sonic the Hedgehog series) since 2021 – and a score of 70 out of 100 on Metacritic.
Whether “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice” will maintain its current success and potentially reach the No. 1 spot in more countries remains to be seen, especially since many are currently dominated by “Zootopia 2.” However, if it continues to attract a large audience, it could contribute to 2026’s trend of successful, non-franchise streaming releases, following hits like Netflix’s “People We Meet on Vacation” and “War Machine,” and Prime Video’s “The Wrecking Crew.”
