The original artist who helped create Venom for Marvel Comics has thought about who could play the character in a future film.
Who did the Venom co-creator say would make a good Eddie Brock?
Voice actor and content creator TheDoctorX11 recently shared on social media that they spoke with David Michelinie, a co-creator of Venom, Carnage, Ant-Man, and War Machine. Michelinie was asked his thoughts on actor Alan Ritchson, known for his role in Reacher, potentially playing Eddie Brock (Venom’s host).
Writer David Michelinie recently shared that he’s long thought Joe Ritchson would be a fantastic choice to play Eddie Brock. Michelinie explained he once shared photos of Ritchson – including one of him shouting and another shirtless – and commented that he’d be perfect for the role of Eddie Brock/Venom. He added, “We’re on the same page.”
Brock, the host of the Venom symbiote, has been featured in several Marvel movies. Tom Hardy most recently played him in the Venom films, while Topher Grace portrayed the character in Spider-Man 3. Now that Hardy’s run as Venom seems to have ended with the 2024 film Venom: The Last Dance, it’s unclear who will play Brock next, or if the character will return.
There’s been talk that Venom might show up in future Spider-Man movies made by Marvel Studios. Tom Hardy, who plays Venom, has said he’d like to appear in a film with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but it’s currently unknown if that will actually happen.
