As a passionate follower of entertainment and a believer in the power of storytelling, I am absolutely thrilled about the inaugural Faith and Spirituality in Entertainment Honors! The Coalition for Faith & Media is doing an incredible job in recognizing those who are bringing underrepresented faith themes to the forefront of our screens.

“The Global Faith & Media Study identified an important data point — 82% of the world identifies as religious, spiritual, or a person of faith. We live in a spiritual world and there is a large market who cares deeply about this topic. As a result, the Coalition for Faith & Media is committed to ensuring faith is meaningfully portrayed in media. In entertainment, this means accurate, nuanced characters that reflect authentic lived experiences people have every day. We’re beyond excited EbMaster’s recognizing some of today’s industry leaders who are doing this work in meaningful ways,” says Sara Critchfield, a founding member of the Coalition.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be at the helm of hosting such a significant event, all in collaboration with the Coalition for Faith & Media. Our aim is to enhance and broaden the representation of faith in the realm of entertainment and media, says Dea Lawrence, our chief operating and marketing officer.

The initial award ceremony’s content will be shared on EbMaster.com as well as EbMaster’s various social media accounts. Additionally, a printed version of this event will appear in both the November 27th and December 4th editions of EbMaster.
