Riot Games has officially announced that the transition of Valorant to Unreal Engine 5 is imminent, happening much sooner than expected.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled about the significant updates Riot Games is rolling out for Valorant this summer as we approach its fifth anniversary. The introduction of the new map, Corrode, marks a fresh addition since Abyss, while characters like Reyna and Neon are receiving some substantial tweaks to balance gameplay. Furthermore, their strategy to combat smurfing is an exciting development that promises a fairer gaming experience for everyone.
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled about the major transformation happening this summer in the world of Valorant! The developers have announced their intention to switch to the powerful Unreal Engine 5, with the transition set for the last week of July. Can’t wait to see how this upgrade enhances my favorite game!
As per the developers, the update is expected to enhance smoothness (framerate) and expedite patch downloads for a smoother gaming experience in the future.
Valorant 11.02 update release confirmed
Fans of Valorant were left guessing based on a general reference to “late July,” but Riot Games has recently clarified the exact timing of the upcoming overhaul.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share some news about the upcoming update! Instead of releasing Patch 11.01 this week, we’re going straight to Patch 11.02 on July 29th. The reason for this change is that we’re currently preparing for our upgrade to UE5, and we want to incorporate all the planned adjustments from Patch 11.01 into the next one. So, don’t worry, all the changes you were expecting will still happen – just a little later than usual! Riot’s Kenny ‘Karnifexlol’ Cameron made this announcement, so rest assured we’re on track to bring you an even better gaming experience.
Riot Games is bypassing Patch 11.01 and instead focusing on readying themselves for the shift to Unreal Engine 5, with Patch 11.02 scheduled for release on July 29 in the world of VALORANT.

In simple terms, logging into Valorant during the active period of update 11.02 will reward you with a unique gun buddy. It’s always a pleasant surprise to get these extras!
For the remainder of this year, they’ve got some significant adjustments up their sleeve too. The long-desired replay system is set to debut in September with the 11.06 update. Additionally, modifications like buffs and nerfs for Agents will be evaluated once Valorant Champs wraps up in October.
