Despite consistently receiving over 100,000 views per episode on YouTube, with some reaching the millions, Valkyrae’s Press ESC Podcast has come to an end after 24 episodes. The reason for its conclusion, as explained by Valkyrae herself, was a business-related decision.
As Valkyrae, I embarked on a fresh journey, stepping away from my streaming roots and diversifying into new ventures, eventually teaming up with one of my buddies to create the Press ESC podcast.
Alythuh, an internet personality and entrepreneur, was the partner she selected to collaborate on producing a warm, inviting program. This program would feature some of their preferred content creators, as well as individuals from the same field. Additionally, there would be episodes where only the two of them were present.
Following several high-profile appearances by influencers such as Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, Bella Poarch, among others, the program was unexpectedly discontinued.
Press ESC podcast ends for “business reasons”
On March 30th, both she and her co-host Lisa skipped their usual weekly release, causing fans to speculate about the whereabouts of the show. A week later, on April 6th, Valkyrae stepped in to share some unfortunate news with Lisa during the last episode of Press ESC.
Alythuh clarified that they shifted their focus towards managing the podcast, implying they’ve put their own business ventures on hold. Valkyrae expressed no regrets about this decision, but admitted that both of them were too busy to keep up with it anymore.
As a dedicated fan, I’d like to share that Rae admitted she postponed one of her lucrative business ventures for three whole months, primarily due to her busy schedule filming the popular series. This lengthy delay served as a stark reminder for her that maintaining a weekly show commitment might no longer be feasible.
Over the past six months, I’ve noticed that effective time management and clear communication have become crucial aspects of our workflow. For instance, we found ourselves pondering, “Should we record a duo episode now? But we can’t film right away, so let’s produce more guest episodes to build up a backlog instead.
Assembling the team to record the Press ESC podcast necessitated extensive travel for the crew members, making it impractical for them to gather weekly. Moreover, with numerous projects that both Lisa and Rae were handling, it became quite challenging to compile past episodes that maintained a sense of relevance and timeliness.
Despite Rae enjoying hosting numerous guests, Lisa yearned for a more two-person interaction to strengthen their bond. With both being short on time, they decided amicably to part ways.
Rae clarified that the series “Press ESC” has decided to take a prolonged break, as she misses her co-star Lisa and feels the show lacks its original charm without her presence. However, she left open the possibility of reviving it again someday.
