Valkyrae Reveals Terrifying Reason She Relocates Every Year

Notable live-streamer Valkyrae shared insights into her annual change of residence, stemming from a chilling encounter with an unknown individual while streaming at the Santa Monica Pier, which left her feeling apprehensive and prompted this lifestyle shift.

On March 2nd, Valkyrae and several other female streamers, including Cinna, Emiru, and ExtraEmily, were live-streaming from California’s Santa Monica Pier when an uninvited viewer (known as a stream sniper) suddenly charged towards them, making violent threats against their lives. The stream sniper threatened to take their lives.

The harrowing incident caused a significant shake-up among the four livestreamers, halting Valkyrae and Cinna’s extended ‘Sisathon’ session prematurely—but it didn’t halt the unfolding of more dramatic events.

Following the unsuccessful attempt, Valkyrae faced severe online threats, leading her to declare that she would no longer venture out in public without a method of protecting herself.

Valkyrae says she’s becoming more “private” after attack at Santa Monica Pier

During their ‘Press ESC’ podcast episode on March 9, Valkyrae explained with co-host Alythuh why she frequently changes houses every year or so… and considering her recent experiences, it’s not a shocking reason at all.

She shared, “I’ve changed residences quite frequently, almost annually. I believe this is due to safety concerns as many online broadcasters encounter stalkers or have their personal information exposed (doxxed).

As a gamer, I can’t help but notice the refreshing impact of a change in environment. When streaming from home becomes your daily routine, it feels like you’re confined to your house round-the-clock, all by yourself. It’s simply delightful to move around and share living spaces with fellow streamers, even enjoying the occasional group dinner together.

When queried whether she intends to purchase a home for long-term living, Rae acknowledged that she needs to be more discreet about it to safeguard her privacy, as she tends to be very open about her personal affairs.

To maintain a more discreet lifestyle now, I’ve learned the hard way that I tend to share too much about others and various topics. When I eventually own a house, I plan to minimize discussions about it. Additionally, I will likely opt for anonymity in its ownership, aiming to make it as private as feasible.

It can be quite frustrating because even one overzealous individual can cause trouble. Unfortunately, the internet seems to have its fair share of such individuals. Guess that’s just how things are.

(Topic begins at 40:40)

Recently, it’s not just Valkyrae who has experienced a violent attack; earlier in March, another streamer, Amouranth, shared that she was robbed and assaulted at gunpoint by three armed individuals. This terrifying event was captured on camera.
