Until Dawn Devs Were Reportedly Making A Blade Runner Game

This week, a movie based on Supermassive Games’ popular title, Until Dawn, is set to premiere in theaters. Their latest release, The Casting of Frank Stone, came out last year, leaving us curious about their future projects. However, it has been rumored that Supermassive was developing an exciting Blade Runner game which unfortunately got scrapped during production. It certainly sounds captivating!

According to Insider Gaming, the game is titled “Blade Runner: Time To Live.” This is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective where you control a replicant named So-Lange. Unlike most other replicants, So-Lange has surpassed his expiration date and instead of being hunted, he works as a Blade Runner tracking down dangerous rogue replicants.

In the year 2065, the story unfolds in New Zurich. So-Lange’s mission to retire the rogue replicant, Rev, ended in a treacherous turn of events, leaving the protagonist injured and stranded amidst the enemy forces.

The game, Time To Live, was designed with a blend of sneaking, fighting, discovery, and detective work. Furthermore, it was planned to feature genuine, snappy, and emotionally charged dialogues between So-Lange and the various characters he encounters within the game.

According to our reliable source from Insider Gaming, Alcon Entertainment, the company holding the rights to Blade Runner, scrapped Time To Live towards the end of last year without revealing the cause for this decision. It’s worth mentioning that about a year ago, Supermassive Games had to let go of at least 90 staff members.

The television adaptation of Amazon Prime Video’s Blade Runner titled “Blade Runner 2099” commenced filming last year. The main cast for this series includes Michelle Yeoh, Hunter Schafer, Katelyn Rose Downey, Lewis Gribben, Dimitri Abold, and Daniel Rigby. Although specific plot details are limited, it is set to unfold 50 years after Blade Runner 2049 as indicated by the title. At present, there’s no news regarding any further Blade Runner video games in development.
