UNO has addressed rumors circulating on the internet suggesting their popular card game might be transformed into a gambling product. However, they’ve made it clear that there won’t be a casino variant of the game. Instead, UNO is planning to make an appearance in casinos across the US through a different approach.
Following rumors on social networking sites suggesting UNO might transform into a monetary slot machine or card game, the company addressed these speculations via a Facebook post.
It’s been mentioned that casino floors in Las Vegas might feature Uno tables – quite an unusual piece of information, isn’t it?
regretfully, we must share some disappointing news: our planned casino debut hasn’t been possible just yet due to security concerns. Though they have strong measures in place, the current setup isn’t suitable for UNO at the moment. This isn’t a ‘Reverse’ situation, but rather an opportunity to expand in other ways. In the interim, the UNO Social Club will be making its way into bars across Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, and Austin this August.
UNO Social Club hits casino lounges with themed pop-ups
The UNO Social Club is a temporary event that will be hosted at chosen casino resorts nationwide, converting regular casino lounges into unique UNO-themed environments. This summer, the initial launches will take place in Las Vegas, New Jersey, and other prominent gambling hotspots.
Ray Adler, Mattel’s vice president and global head of games, stated that we established UNO Social Clubs to envision a fresh take on game nights – fostering social interaction, enjoyable activities, and friendly rivalry among people in real life.
Starting with the UNO Social Club in Las Vegas, we’re eagerly looking forward to witnessing how these fresh adventures will motivate players to attend, engage fully, and create lasting, remarkable moments.
While it’s not implied that there won’t be any UNO games at all, it seems that reports indicate a different scenario. It appears that within the social club experience, visitors can enjoy unique UNO variations such as UNO Golf, UNO Teams, and UNO Show ‘Em No Mercy. However, these games will not be available on the casino floor itself.
It’s not the first occasion that a casino event has trended on social media platforms. In fact, back in 2024, the ‘MrBeast Experience’ in Las Vegas sparked a reaction from the YouTube personality when visitors started posting about unexpected events that transpired.
