In MLB The Show 25, a fresh year brings fresh updates to each game mode. Recently, San Diego Studio gave us a sneak peek at the exciting features we can anticipate with this new release.
In a little over three years from now, on March 18, 2025, MLB The Show 25 will hit the shelves. This time around, Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson grace the cover. Additionally, Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez are set to join the series as new legendary characters.
Regarding the gameplay enhancements, Ambush hitting offers points for predicting where a pitch will be thrown, G.O.A.T difficulty represents a fresh, tougher level of challenge beyond Legend, fielders respond distinctly to ground balls based on their characteristics, and there’s a novel meter to snatch home runs.
These newly updated game modes – Road to the Show, Franchise, and Diamond Dynasty – each offer fresh elements. As of now, details about Road to the Show and Franchise have been unveiled, but both modes are brimming with exciting features to explore.
Every new feature in Road to the Show
In MLB The Show 25, the advancement mechanism has been revamped, giving players more freedom to customize their character’s growth throughout the journey towards a total rating of 99. As you participate in matches, you’ll accumulate tokens that can be used to enhance any particular attribute or a cluster of attributes as per your preference.
Example: It requires a total of three tokens to boost Power from 42 to 43, and the cost can change based on the attribute’s current level.
As a gamer, I find that conquering pivotal moment challenges opens up opportunities to acquire and enhance permanent Perks using earned tokens.
Additionally, you can acquire gear by finishing tasks, which you can then utilize to enhance perks even more.
For the first time ever in MLB The Show, you have the opportunity to kickstart your career during your senior year in high school. If you guide your school to a state championship, you can then decide whether to leap directly into professional baseball with minor league stints or continue your education by playing for one of eight college teams, enhancing your chances of getting drafted higher.

Each week for 16 weeks, you can select your top three desired players to pursue, then engage in negotiations with them.
Every choice carries an outcome. Take the instance where you offer a low price for a contract; it might make them less eager to agree to the deal.
Each week, you could distribute your resources strategically to pique the interest of a potential free agent. The factors that influence their interest include how well they’d fit into a specific position, the duration of the contract, the yearly salary, and the overall caliber of the team.
Instead of investing your time on players who might not join your team, consider focusing on potential targets that have a higher chance of signing up, as doing so will ensure you don’t overlook other valuable prospects.
The trading system has been revamped to enhance the accuracy of player assessments, facilitate better trade deals, and provide more authentic contract negotiations and valuations. Furthermore, menus have been upgraded to incorporate game narratives, league updates, and minor league reports so you can stay informed about how your prospects are progressing.
