In Monster Hunter Wilds, several side missions involve players carrying out everyday chores, and the Apple of Her Eye quest from Alma is no exception. During this mission, players assist their preferred handler in retrieving a valuable item – a pair of glasses gifted to her by Gemma.

Instead of “Apple of Her Eye” not featuring combat, it may prove perplexing due to its ambiguous directions and scarcity of quest markers. If you find yourself uncertain about the actions to take or the path to follow during this MH Wilds side mission, allow me to provide a brief guide for your convenience.

Apple of Her Eye Walkthrough

After chatting with Alma, she’ll mention that her glasses were last spotted in the Scarlet Forest, suggesting she may have misplaced them during her investigations there. To find out where she might have dropped them, you should visit the Wudwud Hideout and inquire among the locals about their possible location.

Visit the secret lair next, whereupon you should engage Thunk, the Wudwud guarding the main entrance. He’ll share that they often retrieve misplaced belongings and valuable artifacts near the river. Following your dialogue with him, a quest indicator will emerge at the river in Sector 1, right outside the Scarlet Forest Base Camp.

As a gamer, I stumbled upon some peculiar creatures by the river, known as Wudwuds. One of them was sporting what appeared to be Alma’s glasses. Unfortunately, before I could engage with it, it swiftly darted away, leaving me with a tantalizing glimpse and a lingering question about where those glasses might have ended up next.

Getting Alma’s Glasses (Ayejack Location)

After returning to the hideout, chat with Thunk once more, and he’ll instruct you to head up to a feast. Engage with the Wudwuds present, and they will inform you that Ayejack, the one in possession of Alma’s glasses, is taking a break already.

To locate Ayejack, retrace your steps to the first floor and seek out Plumpeach, one of the Material Gathering NPCs. Once you find Plumpeach, look for the area with a large cauldron. That’s where you’ll discover Ayejack dozing off in a hammock-like structure suspended from leaves.

Ayejack isn’t going to hand over the glasses without a fight. Instead, he’ll propose a swap, much like Wudwud would do. If you’re interested in the glasses, be prepared to offer something in return, so remember to keep something in your inventory.

If Ayejack isn’t sleeping in his leaf cocoon, he might be roaming around the hideout.
