Frame rates may be lower in urban environments and settlements, but they should still be satisfactory in dungeons and caves. Interactions such as speaking with an NPC or transitioning into a new area might temporarily reduce the frame rate to around 30-50 for a few seconds before returning to its normal range.
For outdoor areas, unfortunately, the highest frame rate you can achieve is approximately 35 frames per second (FPS). During your adventures, the frame rate may occasionally dip when you come close to a dense cluster of trees, but this decrease is temporary and you’ll return to around 30 FPS shortly.
For a smoother gameplay experience with consistent frames per second, consider capping your frame rate at 30. This should maintain a steady pace throughout your gaming session, no matter what stage you’re in.
I regret to inform you that the current settings may not allow you to experience the full visual enhancement that Oblivion Remastered underwent. It might not appear as stunning as it does on a PC or even consoles, but it provides a convenient way to enjoy Oblivion Remastered when you’re away from your computer. Occasionally, you may encounter texture pop-ups and some unusual graphical glitches during loading into the open world, but the game should still be playable.
On medium settings, the Steam Deck may experience frequent drops in frame rate, sometimes as low as 10 frames per second or less. Additionally, the game is likely to pause occasionally when running at higher graphical settings.
