In the enigmatic landscape of Whispering Tides, lies a mystical island swathed in heavy fog, with towering cliffs that house colossal circular formations as its prominent features. Wanderers are invited to traverse this area, unearthing ancient ruins brimming with chests full of untouched treasure, thereby advancing their expedition’s discovery.
In some instances, certain treasure chests might not be immediately accessible because they’re concealed behind challenges or puzzles, such as the Ruins Where Shadow Roams. These challenges are connected to a quest named ‘Quest of Faith.’ To unlock these chests in the game Wuthering Waves, players must first locate and conquer 4 specific ruins, then defeat the enemies within them.
Penitent’s End Ruins Where Shadows Roam Location 1
In the game “Wuthering Waves,” the first ruins where shadows linger, known as “Penitent’s End,” are situated south of the Figurehead’s Shrine. Players can easily transport themselves to the Resonance Beacon, which is located south of the only Resonance Nexus in this region. A conversation between characters Rover and Abby about the nearby ruin will ensue, accompanied by the addition of the “Quest of Faith” in your quest log.
Head to the outskirts of the ruins, where you’ll find a glimmering spot marked with instructions to ‘Inspect the carvings on the ground.’ Interacting with this area will trigger an adversary to emerge from the shadows. To vanquish it completely, players must attack according to specific conditions.
Remember that the Tacet Discord in this ruin will go into a state called Shadow form, which makes them invulnerable to any attacks. The Rovers should try to lead the enemies towards the Macabre Torch scattered around the arena, since the light from these torches can break the Shadow form, leaving them exposed once more.
Certain foes will attempt to put out any nearby Macabre Torches once their Health falls below a specific level. To keep these enemies in their Shadow state, lead them towards other active Macabre Torches instead.
After the battle ends, read the Journal Page I on the ground to spawn a Standard Supply Chest.
Penitent’s End Ruins Where Shadows Roam Location 2
1. In your next exploration, you’ll find the second set of ruins where Shadows Realm lies southwest from your current position. A solitary Fae Ignis Echo can be spotted there. In this confrontation, the Macabre Torches won’t be lit, so players should utilize the Fae Ignis’ power to generate flames and draw them towards the Macabre Torch.

2. During your next adventure, you’ll spot the second set of ruins, the Shadows Realm, located southwest from where you were previously. You’ll find a single Fae Ignis Echo there. In this fight, the Macabre Torches won’t be alight, so players should exploit the Fae Ignis’ ability to create fire and guide it towards the Macabre Torch.
After lighting the three macabre torches in this ruins, the shadow foe will emerge for you Rover-players to vanquish. The tactic remains as it was earlier: ensure that Tacet Discord stays within the torch’s illuminated area to dispel its shadowy condition.
Penitent’s End Ruins Where Shadows Roam Location 3
In the third set of ruins named “Shadows’ Realm at the End of Repentance,” found westward from “Fool’s Paradise” in the game Wuthering Waves, there stands a solitary Macabre Lantern with just one Fae Echo for Ignis to assist players in lighting it. The boss emerges immediately, heightening the challenge as players must dodge the enemy’s attacks while simultaneously attempting to ignite the Macabre Torch during battle.
As I light up the torch, the Fae Ignis vanishes, not because we’ve defeated it, but due to some mysterious reason. However, don’t fret! When the shadowy foe whittles down its health and snuffs out the flame, a new Fae Ignis Echo will reappear nearby, giving us another chance to reignite the Macabre Torch.
Don’t forget to read the note on the ground after defeating the enemies to spawn a treasure chest.
Penitent’s End Ruins Where Shadows Roam Location 4
The remnants of the haunted Ruins, where Shadows linger in the desolate Penitent’s End, lie to the very north of the Dragon of Dirge encounter. Approach the battlefield to initiate the trial. In this climactic fight, the level of challenge surpasses previous engagements due to numerous Shadow-affected foes that must be vanquished. Meanwhile, players strive to light the Morbid Torches.
Initially, the torches will ignite independently and summon the shadow foes one at a time. Once all three are on the battlefield, they’ll start putting out the Morbid Torches once their health drops below a specific threshold. In return, three Fae Ignis Echo will appear, offering you an opportunity. Since this fight might last for a while, assemble your strongest team and don’t forget to bring a healer to maintain your team’s health throughout the battle.
Once the final fight concludes, check out the last Journal Page that lies on the ground, then grab the Elite Loot Box in Wuthering Waves. Additionally, Rovers will receive a secret accomplishment titled ‘We’re All Alone’, and the Dream Patrol Challenges at Penitent’s End will become accessible.
