As a dedicated Monster Hunter Wilds player, I can’t imagine the game without spending countless hours exploring Gemma’s vast array of craftable equipment – if only I could lay my hands on those rare crystals and ores!
To be frank, it seems that a majority of my leisure time involves me poring over menus. Nowadays, even the lines from Smithy feel like they’re directed at me. “Knowledge is my greatest weapon,” you say? But what about the Insect Glaive I’m striving to create, which incidentally demands Fucium Ore?
As a seasoned hunter in Monster Hunter Wilds, let me lead you on a quest to uncover the hidden ores, crystals, and shards scattered across the land. With these valuable finds, we’ll be one step closer to crafting that coveted gear we’ve both had our eyes on!

Every way to get ores in MHW
In Monster Hunter Wilds, ores play a crucial role as they’re used for crafting potent weapons and enhancing equipment. Here are three main methods to obtain ores within the game:
In Monster Hunter Wilds, ores are vital for creating strong weapons and improving your gear. You can collect them in three primary ways throughout the game:
- Mining Outcrops
- Hunting Monsters
- Festival Shares
Let’s explore each method in detail to help you gather the resources you need.
Mining Outcrops
As I traverse this virtual realm, it’s no secret that gathering ores, crystals, and shards mostly involves digging them up while I journey through this world.
As a game enthusiast, I always keep an eye on my map while playing. To find those valuable Mining Outcrops, I simply adjust the filter settings to focus on gathering items. Once done, toggle on the Mining Outcrop filter and watch as my map lights up with their locations. It’s also handy to set waypoints for my trusty companion, Seikret, who can guide me directly to the nearest outcrops. Happy mining!

Keep in mind that a Mining Outcrop might contain various ores, so remember to examine it several times when you return to it for mining.
Hunting Monsters
Through conversations with Alma and choosing available side missions, you stand a chance to slay specific monsters which offer the ores you seek as rewards.
To discover what treasures await you in a monster hunt, simply hover your cursor over the quest symbol (or use the left joystick if you’re on console) and then press R1/RB for consoles or E for PC. You will find the ores listed towards the end of the rewards.
Festival Shares
Amicable villages generously provide festival goods that often take the shape of ores, useful for crafting weaponry.
To obtain the Festival Shares from the village Azuz, simply converse with Roqul at the Smelting Foundry, and the Everforge will be yours.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share some insights about upcoming non-player characters (NPCs) you’ll encounter on your journey. Firstly, there’s a character who loves Kunafa, found in the Windward Plains. Secondly, you’ll find another near Suja village towards the end of the main story. Interestingly, these three unique individuals will merge into one entity named Nata in the endgame.
You can easily access and interact with Nata at any base camp nearby Alma. This special location serves as a hub where you can collect your Festival Shares, making it convenient for all your endgame needs!
It seems like we’ve gathered more ore than we’ll need in a lifetime. However, when it comes to acquiring common materials, I’m afraid you’re out of luck; instead, let’s just focus on passively farming them using the Material Retrieval method.
