In the forthcoming Pokemon Go Catch Mastery event, the stone-bound creature known as Archen will make its appearance. This presents players with a long-awaited opportunity to transform Archen into its evolved form, Archeops.

In the Unova region of Generation 5, Archen was first presented as a fossil Pokémon within the series. Known as the Original Flying-type Pokémon, finding Archen in Niantic’s mobile game can be quite challenging due to its scarcity.

Due to an extremely rare appearance in Pokemon Go’s game world, spotting Archen is quite challenging, almost like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But fear not! The upcoming Catch Mastery event significantly boosts your chances of encountering this elusive Pokemon. With approximately 40 opportunities to come across it, you might just have the chance to evolve Archen at last.

Catch Mastery event: Date & time

Hey there fellow trainers! Mark your calendars for this coming Sunday, March 16th, 2025. From 10 in the morning to 8 at night, local time, get ready for the Catch Mastery event in Pokemon Go! Let’s show them who the real masters are. See you there!

As a gamer, I’m excited to let you know that this upcoming event won’t drag on forever, which is great news! It’ll provide ample time for us to hunt down as many Archen as possible. The goal here is to collect enough Candy so we can finally evolve our beloved Archen into the mighty Archeops. Let’s make the most of this opportunity and catch ’em all!

Moreover, while trying to get the bird’s evolution, they might encounter a Shiny Archen.

Wild encounters

During the event, players will come across these other fossil Pokemon in the wild more frequently:

  • Omanyte*
  • Kabuto*

Pokemon marked with an (*) can appear as Shiny.

Event bonuses

The Catch Mastery event will offer players the following bonuses:

  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Omanyte, Shiny Kabuto, and Shiny Archen.
  • x2 XP for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • x2 XP for successfully catching Pokemon with Curveball Throws.

Field Research Task

During the event, you’ll find activities that test your precision in throwing Poke Balls. Successfully completing these tasks will offer you an opportunity to encounter Archen, and there’s a higher chance of spotting a Shiny one among them.

Timed Research

During this entire gaming event, I’ll be diving deep into a Time-bound Study focusing on those sturdy Rock-type Pokémon. Completing ten batches of research missions will grant me the opportunity to come across a grand total of 40 Archen encounters!

Paid Timed Research

Furthermore, a special Timed Research will be offered for purchase at USD 2.00 (or the equivalent amount in your local currency) and only accessible during specific events.

The Timed Research rewards include:

  • 40 additional encounters with Archen!

As a fellow enthusiast, remember to wrap up your Timed Research tasks by March 16, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time, as these activities come with an expiration date and the rewards will be forfeited if not claimed before then.

Apart from buying tickets, players also have the option to give these tickets as gifts to their friends. But, it’s important to note that in order to share tickets, the friendship level between the players should be at least “Great Friends” or a higher status.
