Netflix has announced that “Little House on the Prairie” is officially in production.
First penned by Laura Ingalls Wilder during the Great Depression, “Little House on the Prairie” offers a semi-autobiographical glimpse into Wilder’s upbringing in the Midwestern United States from 1872 to 1894. Initially, these stories were transformed into the beloved TV series “Little House on the Prairie,” which aired on NBC from 1974 to 1983. As for the contemporary retelling of “Little House on the Prairie,” Netflix describes it as a blend of heartwarming family drama, gripping survival story, and exploration of the early history of the American West.
The TV show ‘Little House on the Prairie’ chronicles the journey of Laura Ingalls, a young pioneer girl, through America’s westward movement. This series will depict Laura and her family’s travels as they seek a fresh start in different parts of America.
The cast consists of Luke Bracey portraying Charles Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald playing Caroline Ingalls, Alice Halsey in the role of Laura Ingalls, Skywalker Hughes as Mary Ingalls, Warren Christie as John Edwards, Jocko Sims depicting Dr. George Tann, Meegwun Fairbrother taking on the character Mitchell, Alyssa Wapanatâhk representing White Sun, Wren Zhawenim Gotts as Good Eagle, and Xander Cole appearing as Little Puma.
As a movie reviewer, I’m delighted to share that showrunner and executive producer Rebecca Sonnenshine expresses her excitement about our exceptional cast. Each actor contributes uniquely to the Little House world, ensuring that this tale springs to life for a fresh audience.
Dana Fox, Susanna Fogel, Sonnenshine, Trip Friendly, and Joy Gorman Wettels will take on the role of executive producers for this upcoming series. The production company behind “Little House on the Prairie” is a collaboration between Friendly Family Productions, Joy Coalition, Anonymous Content Studios, and CBS Studios.
