The popular anime and game series, Umamusume: Pretty Derby, is bringing its characters to life by featuring them on a race car in the Super GT championship.
The popular game Umamusume Pretty Derby is partnering with Pacific Racing Team, a well-established team that competes in Japan’s premier Super GT racing series.
In 2026, the team plans to compete with a lineup featuring six popular horses: Special Week, Maruzensky, Rice Shower, Winning Ticket, Curren Chan, and Buena Vista, all part of the PACIFIC Umamusume NAC BMW team.
The horse girls all wear blue racing suits, and the car is painted white and blue with lightning bolt designs.
Umamusume heads to the F1 racetrack
So, I was checking out the race cars in Umamusume, and it turns out the cool livery isn’t just for show! Underneath all that, it’s a BMW M4 GT3 EVO – a seriously fast machine in the GT300 class. Apparently, this thing can hit over 280 km/h on the right track. It’s kinda cool that both the horse girls and their cars are known for being super speedy!
Fans of Umamusume can show their support by becoming ‘personal sponsors’ of a team. Higher sponsorship levels and special packages even let fans have their names featured on the team’s car.

The racing season starts April 11th and 12th at Okayama International Circuit, so fans won’t have to wait long to see the car compete.
It’s common to see anime themes in racing, and Formula 1 team Williams recently joined the trend with a collaboration featuring the anime series Dan Da Dan and UNDONE. Interestingly, this isn’t the most unusual anime tie-in we’ve seen – an official alcoholic beverage inspired by the popular character Vodka from Umamusume has also been released.
