UFC champ opens door to Jake Paul fight as he’s been training for it

As a gamer with a deep-rooted affection for UFC and boxing, I must admit that the prospect of Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira squaring off against Jake Paul is nothing short of exhilarating. With my gaming eyes glued to the screens, I have witnessed Jake’s impressive victories over MMA legends like Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Nate Diaz, and Mike Perry. Yet, the thought of him going toe-to-toe with a seasoned UFC fighter like Pereira sends my adrenaline soaring.

MMA legend Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira expressed his willingness for a bout against Jake Paul, as he’s keen on participating in Dana White’s proposal to arrange additional boxing contests.

In the realm of boxing, Jake Paul has encountered a variety of mixed martial artists, engaging in numerous contests. His nearly flawless boxing record includes victories over Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Nate Diaz, and Mike Perry.

Despite focusing on preparing for a bout with Mike Tyson, the ‘Problem Child’ has set his sights on an additional goal – UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira.

After defeating Perry, Jake challenged the Brazilian combatant who happens to have a boxing history, known as ‘Poatan’. Poatan expressed interest in accepting the challenge, which sparked excitement among fans, as videos of his past amateur bouts were made public.

Now, the 37-year-old has given his biggest hint yet that it could happen in the future.

He expressed his excitement and enthusiasm when asked about the possibility of boxing again, stating, ‘To be honest, I’ve had a strong desire for this, and I enjoy boxing. For quite some time, I’ve wanted to step into the ring.’ He further mentioned, ‘In the coming days, I’ll share video clips of me sparring with Brazil’s top heavyweight boxer as proof.’

He went on to say: “That video is from a few years ago, but I’ve significantly improved my skills in the game since then. Dana White announced it, and truthfully, there were no discussions between us and the organization about this. However, I sense that the partnership will originate with me.

Jake is training to fight Tyson in November but is also set to make his MMA debut in 2025.

As per Peter Murray, the head of PFL, Jake’s upcoming fight against Tyson marks a pause in his boxing career for some time. If the Poatan fight indeed happens, it means we might have to wait a while longer before these two step into the ring together.
