Frontiers of Pandora recently reached a new peak in popularity on Steam, surpassing its previous record for concurrent players. Before December 2025, the game had a high of 2,614 players playing at the same time, as reported by SteamDB.

As of December 22, 2025, the game has hit a record high of 12,496 players – more than four times its previous peak. It’s clearly more popular than ever, particularly among PC gamers. While we don’t have numbers for Xbox and PlayStation, it’s likely the game is also seeing similar success on those platforms.

Several things have caused this recent increase in popularity. The biggest factor is a major game update released by Massive Entertainment in early December. Players had been asking for it for months, and the update finally included a third-person perspective, allowing them to see and play the game in a completely new way.

After the big update, the ‘From the Ashes’ expansion added more story content, continuing the narrative after the latest movie. It also revealed what happened to a crucial character following the events of ‘Fire and Ash’.

Thanks to the success of these factors, and the huge popularity of the movie series while ‘Fire and Ash’ was still in theaters, interest in ‘Frontiers of Pandora’ quickly grew. It was perfectly set up to take advantage of this momentum.
