U.K. Man Jailed for Making Obscene Deepfake Images of 20 Women

So, there’s this guy in the U.K., Brandon Tyler, 26 years old, who thought it was a good idea to use deepfake technology to mess with over 20 women. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. This genius altered their photos and posted more than 170 obscene videos and pictures online. Like, how did this guy think he was going to get away with this? 🙄

Brandon, from Braintree, Essex (no, I didn’t know where that was either), got himself a five-year sentence from a court that basically called him a walking, talking example of “toxic masculinity” – which, in case you didn’t know, is a fancy term for being a total jerk to women. 👎

Now, to make things extra special, Brandon didn’t just tweak some photos. Oh no, he went above and beyond by sharing one of the altered images with the lovely suggestion that people should choose which woman should be “gang ra*ed.” Because nothing says “I’m a decent human” like that, right? The judge, with a hint of sarcasm, pointed out that his attitude towards women was absolutely atrocious. Ya think? 🤷‍♀️

By the way, this whole drama is taking place around the time Netflix drops its ‘Adolescence’ show. It’s a series that looks at internet misogyny (hello, Andrew Tate) and how it’s turning young men into walking clichés of toxic masculinity. Yikes. 🔥

“Toxic masculinity is a term that is often heard. Your humiliating and degrading conduct toward the victims in this case is perhaps the best example. These people had a right to post their images on social media platforms without fear of those images being warped for sexual purposes,” said Judge Alexander Mills. So basically, Brandon, you’re the poster child for ‘Don’t Be This Guy.’ 👏

The prosecutor, Ms. Farrelly, gave a rundown of Tyler’s master plan, which involved stalking social media, finding photos, and then completely distorting them. Oh, and don’t forget, he also shared the victims’ personal info online. Because why not, right? 👀

And how did the police catch him? He made the rookie mistake of showing his Instagram handle in a screenshot. Oops. If only he had the common sense of a potato, this might’ve worked out better for him. 🥔

Two of the victims gave emotional testimonies in court, explaining how Tyler’s sick game of deepfake roulette messed with their lives. One woman is still getting creepy, anonymous messages, while another’s relationship fell apart thanks to this guy’s idiocy. Real classy, Brandon. 🥴
