In simple terms, Ironmouse, one of the most popular female VTubers on Twitch, has announced her departure from VShojo, the agency she’s been associated with since November 2020. In a video shared on her YouTube channel, she claims that the company owes her a substantial amount of money and did not fulfill its promise to donate over half a million dollars ($515,000) she raised for the Immunodeficiency Foundation charity.
Ironmouse battles a relatively uncommon primary immune deficiency condition called Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), which leaves her with an almost non-operational immune system. This illness keeps her mostly confined to bed, prone to frequent illnesses, and requiring isolation for protection. As Ironmouse delved into streaming, she hoped to simply make acquaintances, yet was hesitant about exposing her true identity online. It was then that a friend advised her to experiment with an anime avatar, leading her to become a Virtual YouTuber (VTuber).
In 2020, Mouse was invited to become a part of VShojo. After carefully thinking it over, she pondered whether she could transition into being a corporate VTuber or not. Weighing the advantages of maintaining her anonymity and allowing VShojo to manage her payments, she decided to join the company in November of 2020. Since then, Mouse, along with her online friend CDawg (real name Connor), have successfully raised over $4 million for the Immunodeficiency Foundation through various means such as subathons on Twitch, Cycleathons, and other charitable events.
During two fundraising events, known as subathons, Ironmouse chose to give half of her earnings to the Immunodeficiency Foundation. She claims that the first event went smoothly, and as per their agreement, VShojo, who manages her Twitch payments, donated over $329,000 to the Immunodeficiency Foundation. In September 2024, during her second subathon, Ironmouse surpassed Kai Cenat’s previous record for most Twitch subscribers at 306,621, resulting in a grand total of $515,000 raised for the Immunodeficiency Foundation. Once again, she requested VShojo to make the donation on her behalf. Regrettably, more than a year later, the charity has not received the promised payment from VShojo as Ironmouse explains.
Ironmouse shares that the Immunodeficiency Foundation was a charitable organization that provided significant assistance during her diagnosis, when she felt fearful and uncertain about the future. She expresses her wish to contribute positively and repay the community for its support, but unfortunately finds herself unable to do so at this time due to ongoing legal matters. However, she wishes she could discuss the situation further, but has been advised to remain silent until the legal proceedings are concluded.
In support of Ironmouse, several VTubers affiliated with VShojo have started deleting the agency’s name from their social media profiles and announcing upcoming streams where they plan to discuss their future actions. This move has sparked speculation that other talents might also decide to leave VShojo due to the ongoing controversial situation.
Virtual streamer Kson recently broadcasted to disclose her decision to leave her agency, accusing VShojo of not paying her since September 2024. She expressed, “I’ve been repeatedly misled by the company about the situation.” She added that her payments ceased in September and she had repeatedly asked for clarification only to be told it would be resolved, which never happened. Kson admitted that she hesitated to disclose this information and quit the agency because she was afraid the money owed would never materialize. “This was a terrifying prospect for me,” she confessed.
I, the gamer, mentioned earlier that about eleven days back, I put in my leave notice. It’s uncertain if I knew about Ironmouse’s predicament when I made this request.
Recently, VShojo has been facing criticism as three of its talents have parted ways with the agency since May 2025, in addition to the former Chief Marketing Officer and Talent Director leaving their positions. Former VShojo VTubers have also voiced their opinions regarding the Ironmouse situation, with Zentreya (who recently left the agency) expressing her concern for the VShojo community and urging support among its members. Current VShojo talents Kuro Kurenai, Apricot, Henya, Hime Hajime, AmaLee, and Michi Mochievee have publicly expressed their support for Ironmouse.
Ironmouse shared a Tiltify link aimed at collecting donations for the Immunodeficiency Foundation. Currently, this campaign has garnered more than $334,000. As an independent VTuber, she plans to keep streaming live content.
