Twitch streamers spend 8 hours trying to find actual needle in a haystack

Twitch streamers Erobb and Extra Emily actually tried to find a needle in a haystack, just like the saying goes! They spent eight hours searching through a huge pile of hay.

I just watched one of the weirdest livestreams ever! Erobb and Extra Emily actually tried to find a needle in a haystack – seriously! It was so interesting to see if they could actually do it.

They shared their experiment on Tuesday, March 24th, searching through haystacks in warm, 84-degree Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) weather.

The team bought seven hay bales and stacked them up in the backyard. Emily pointed out they used a tiny sewing needle – so small it was even smaller than one of the strands of hay.

To keep their viewers entertained during their long search, the streaming pair offered rewards. Every ten new subscriptions triggered a spin of a wheel, and whatever it landed on meant they had to do something silly as a ‘punishment’.

Emily even attempted to identify the hay by touch alone, using a blindfold and trying to feel for a hidden needle.

They continued playing for a long time, even after sunset, and used headlamps to see in the darkness.

After more than eight hours, Extra Emily finally spotted the needle. It was lying on the ground, hidden amongst the hay and grass right at her feet.

“I found it right here!” Emily said excitedly, holding up the needle for the camera to see.

It was amazing! My favorite streamer’s chat just blew up with everyone saying “I WAS HERE” – it was so fun being part of that moment with all the other viewers!

Believe it or not, someone has actually found a needle in a haystack before. In 2014, artist Sven Sachsalber spent 18 to 30 hours searching a huge haystack at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and eventually succeeded.
