Twitch streamers jump into action to save victim in grisly car crash

Two Twitch broadcasters temporarily paused their activities to examine a car blaze on the road, calling the authorities and verifying if the driver was safe.

On the night of May 28, 2025, Twitch streamer NotQuiteLikeDub and a friend were cruising in his Tesla Cybertruck when they chanced upon a vehicle that appeared to have crashed on a carpool lane as it was joining the highway.

Instantly, Dub suggested they pull over, and quickly jumped out of the truck to assess the scene.

They observed a compact silver sedan, which had collided with the curb divider in its lane, causing damage. Scattered remnants littered the roadway, and a tiny part of the front bumper was burning.

Or:

Upon inspection, they noticed a sleek silver four-door car that had run into the concrete partition, leaving wreckage on the street. A bit of the front end’s bumper was ablaze as well.

Concerned about the driver’s well-being, Dub swung open the back door of the sedan and inquired if he was okay. The audience could see the driver’s head moving slightly as he adjusted his position. Later, Dub requested his cameraman to avoid recording them out of consideration for their personal space.

A kind bystander pulled over, phoned the authorities, and assisted the distressed individual (Dub) who was already speaking with the police, aiming to secure immediate help for the driver.

Returning to his Cybertruck to retrieve a torch, Dub stated that the “entire left side” of the driver’s seat appeared to be detached, shockingly so, leaving him visibly distressed.

Fortunately, the victim showed signs of life and awareness. Working together with a passerby, Dub attempted to get drivers to reduce their speed, as some vehicles came close to not stopping in time due to not being able to spot the accident scene. Nevertheless, Dub decided to remain there and make sure the driver received assistance.

“Not gonna lie, I can’t do no human like that,” he admitted. “We’re covered by God, bro.”

Following their utmost efforts to signal approaching vehicles using their lights, it was eventually the emergency services who made an appearance, thereby enabling the streamers and the stranger to bid farewell amicably, exchanging warm handshakes.

“We just saved a life,” Dub remarked.

Kudos to them for taking the time to verify.

The cameraman contemplated departing, yet the streamer expressed his unwillingness to abandon another person in such a state, vowing to remain until an ambulance arrived. Many consider him decent, in my opinion.

It’s extraordinary that anyone would act differently in a similar scenario, given that it happens so rarely. To me, it signifies exceptional behavior.

On more than one occasion, a live streamer has happened upon a car crash while streaming; for instance, back in 2022, Twitch broadcaster Castro found himself in a taxi that witnessed a car colliding with another on the road directly ahead.
