Twitch Staff Upset Over Adin Ross Unban: Leaked Meeting

In an unauthorized disclosure of a staff meeting at Twitch, the discussion between CEO Dan Clancy and a dissatisfied team member centered around the question of why popular streamer Adin Ross had been reinstated on the platform.

Back in February 2023, I found myself permanently banned from Twitch – a platform I had a bit of a rocky relationship with and ended up becoming quite vocal about Kick instead. However, despite the ban, there was a lingering desire within me to go back to Twitch, mainly due to some challenges I faced with my “toxic” community.

Later in March 2025, Ross’s Twitch account was restored. At present, he is archiving his streams for future collaborations with other streamers while simultaneously streaming on Kick. However, it appears that some staff members at Twitch are strongly opposed to his return to their service.

According to a report by Nathan Grayson from Aftermath, it was during a company-wide meeting held around March 30 that an employee voiced their dissatisfaction over Ross’s reinstatement.

To CEO Dan Clancy, one staff member inquired as to the specific rationale behind Ross’s re-hiring. They were curious if it was a strategic business choice or if it stemmed from Ross demonstrating positive changes, i.e., being “reformed.

They inquired about the proof you assessed, which led to the decision to lift Adin Ross’s ban. However, I must confess, this is a decision I’ve found myself at odds with the most. Personally, I hold a strong conviction that this action may expose our community to potential harm and could imply that we tolerate the kind of aggression Adin has been associated with in the past.

Instead, Clancy clarified that Ross’s lifting of the ban wasn’t due to any commercial dealings, but instead, it was an opportunity offered for previously banned broadcasters to get a “fresh start.

Clancy made it clear to everyone: This has absolutely nothing to do with business matters at all. It’s not even tangentially connected.

It involves determining whether someone deserves a second opportunity and providing them with that chance. However, if they fail to meet our expectations, we have the right to act accordingly. In this context, if he violates our community rules on Twitch, he will be removed from the platform.

Clancy elaborated by saying that Ross’s ban wasn’t seen as a lifelong one, but rather an ongoing one, and provided more insight into the internal procedures Twitch employs for handling these types of penalties.

He added, “Our team examines this matter closely, as it’s often quite complex.” He emphasized, “We strongly feel that individuals should have the ability to modify their past actions.” He further stated, “In our evaluation process, we aim to gauge the probability of you adhering to our rules consistently.

Regarding Adin, he’s expressed multiple times his desire for a change in his current situation. We’ve received reports from different sources suggesting he’s attempting to make changes. Time will tell if these efforts prove successful.

Recently, Twitch has significantly altered its approach towards suspensions. Starting from February 2025, the platform implemented modifications to its ban enforcement policy, enabling users who have been permanently banned to file an appeal following a six-month period.

Clancy had shown an inclination towards lifting Ross’s ban on Twitch several months prior to his actual release from Twitch detention, suggesting that he might reconsider the ban if Ross altered his conduct.
