Twitch Sends Wrong Statue to French Streamer

As a dedicated fan, I found myself quite perplexed when Twitch seemed to have mixed up its connections, sending the Bleed Purple statue meant for fighting game legend Daigo Umehara – a reward for his impressive 5 million hours watched milestone – to a French streamer instead.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but marvel at the legendary status of Daigo ‘The Beast’ Umehara, often referred to as one of the divine figures in the realm of fighting games. His unparalleled skill and dominance within the Street Fighter series for such a lengthy period is nothing short of breathtaking.

As a multiple-time Evo champion, Daigo has not only grown his professional gaming dominion but also ventured into content creation. He boasts an impressive following of more than 448K viewers on Twitch, who frequently watch him outperform opponents.

Since February 2016, Daigo has consistently streamed on Twitch, accumulating an astonishing total of 5 million hours viewed over approximately a decade.

As a tribute for his remarkable accomplishment, Twitch gifted the renowned fighting game player a Bleed Purple statue – an honorary award that is presented to broadcasters upon reaching specific viewer thresholds.

Twitch sent Diago’s Bleed Purple statue to the wrong streamer

It appears that Daigo’s statue was delivered to an incorrect address, according to French streamer ‘Ponce.’ He claimed to have received an award intended for the Japanese fighting game professional, Daigo, instead.

In March 2025, while speaking with a friend during a phone call, Ponce came across an error in a broadcast that left him utterly astonished.

Hold on a second, buddy, this is the first time I’ve truly examined it,” he remarked. “There’s something I need to share with you – it’s remarkable. As a matter of fact, it’s the first time I’ve looked at it, and it’s not even mine!

He declared emphatically that what he said was genuine, pointing out ‘DaigotheBeasTV.’ At the time, he had no idea about Daigo’s identity. Later, after a quick search on Twitch, Ponce found himself chuckling at the peculiar predicament.

“It’s not mine!” he exclaimed.

In the genre of UNLIKELY: If the Japanese player @daigothebeast never received his Twitch trophy for 5 million hours of viewing, it’s because he was sent to French streamer @poncefleur instead.

Up until now, Twitch, Daigo, and Ponce haven’t issued any official comments about the recent controversy. Interestingly, Ponce had possessed the statue for several weeks before he finally read the inscription during his live stream that later went viral.

Audience members are now proposing various ideas for returning the statue to Daigo, with one individual on Reddit suggesting that Ponce could journey to Evo and hand it over to him personally during a live stream event.

From August 1st through 3rd, Evo returns to Las Vegas, uniting top-tier fighting game experts worldwide for an extraordinary weekend filled with camaraderie and competition that’s truly unique – and it’s rare to miss Daigo among the attendees.
