Twitch makes Partner much easier to get but only for one group of streamers

Twitch has simplified the process for certain streamers to achieve Partner status, following feedback from users on the Amazon-managed platform.

Gaining Partner status on Twitch expands the horizons for broadcasters. As a Twitch Partner, you can secure subscribers, engage in Twitch’s advertising programs, and earn income through the bounty board.

The criteria for attaining Partner status on Twitch have undergone some minor adjustments throughout the years, yet it essentially boils down to maintaining regular broadcasts, cultivating an audience, and demonstrating unwavering commitment to the platform.

For streamers residing in Latin America, achieving Partner or even Partner Plus status has proven challenging. This difficulty stems from unique cultural factors and economic conditions prevalent within the region, as acknowledged by Twitch. In response to these challenges, Twitch is implementing significant modifications.

Twitch lowers LATAM requirements for Partner

Indeed, Twitch has just simplified the process for Latin American broadcasters to achieve Partner status by reducing the point threshold in half.

To reach Level 1 (60/40 revenue share) now, you only need to accumulate 50 Plus Points consistently over a period of three months, which is a reduction from the previous requirement of 100 Plus Points. For Level 2 (70/30 revenue share), the new requirement is also lowered; you will need to earn 200 Plus Points for three consecutive months instead of the original 300 Plus Points.

Based on the data available, cultural subtleties and economic factors specific to Latin America have posed challenges for creators of comparable size in meeting Plus program standards, compared to those in other regions. As a result, Twitch recognizes an opening to enhance support for LATAM creators by making higher revenue shares more attainable.
