I was really surprised to hear about this artist at TwitchCon 2025! She makes these awesome prop knives based on video games, but apparently some people complained about them. Because of the complaints, Twitch banned her from the platform for 30 days, and she’s now issued an apology. It’s a shame, because I think a lot of people enjoy her work, but I guess Twitch had to respond to the concerns raised.
TwitchCon 2025 will be remembered as a particularly difficult event for the Twitch brand, following a series of issues that occurred from October 17th to 19th.
Popular streamer Emiru was recently assaulted by a fan at an event. The fan bypassed the line, grabbed her, and attempted to kiss her. He left the venue before authorities could stop him, and has since been permanently banned from Twitch and all future Twitch events. Emiru has stated she is pursuing legal charges against the individual.
During TwitchCon, several VTubers reported upsetting incidents. IronMouse shared she was deeply saddened to learn that gifts sent by her fans were thrown away by security. Additionally, one streamer discovered malware on a computer she used at the event, which put her personal information at risk and required her to reset her passwords.
During the TwitchCon Block Party, attendees pointed out that a vendor was selling prop knives, which some found concerning.
A visitor streaming live from the event spotted the booth and posted a video online, pointing out that the knives were easily accessible and could have been stolen by anyone.
The shop was tucked away in a back corner, so hardly anyone was looking at what it offered. But when my friends and I all saw it at the same time, we immediately exchanged worried glances – we didn’t even need to talk about it. We spotted it early in the party, and I knew right away I wanted to leave.

The streamer stated she reported the booth to TwitchCon security right away. Her post quickly spread throughout the streaming community, raising more worries about the safety and security of people at the event.
Artist apologizes after 30-day ban for selling prop knives at TwitchCon
On October 24th, the artist known online as ‘Chierri’ clarified the situation, stating the knives were actually 3D-printed replicas of video game weapons. They explained the knives were designed to look like weapons but were intentionally made blunt and harmless.
She said everything was fine at TwitchCon until the final day, when Twitch banned her account for 30 days.
She acknowledged that her stage props could have violated Twitch’s safety rules and expressed her sincere apologies to Twitch, the event attendees, and anyone who was concerned. She also stated she fully accepts responsibility for the issue.
The artist also stated that no one from TwitchCon had warned her about the issue beforehand. She explained that she would have immediately removed the item and tried to fix the situation if anyone had brought it to her attention.
I’ve been putting off writing this post because of everything that’s been going on. Twitchcon was amazing – I loved meeting both new and old friends, and I hope I get to go again next year.
I’ve been a vendor at TwitchCon for several years and always make sure my items follow the event’s guidelines. This year, I made and sold some 3D-printed, game-inspired replica knives. They were purely decorative props – completely harmless and not meant to be used as real weapons. Each one was…

Chierri shared that her appeal of the streaming ban was unsuccessful, so she won’t be able to stream again until mid-November.
Most people responding to her post have been supportive. One commenter questioned, “You’ve been creating content for years, and now you’re suddenly banned for this with no explanation or warning? Especially considering the security at TwitchCon was so lax?”

One person commented that the ban was extremely severe, especially considering the issue originated with Twitch itself, and that applying it after the fact was shocking.
Someone told me your booth was their favorite and they loved it so much they wished they could have bought even more! They were really disappointed to hear about the issue and hope it gets fixed quickly.
So, Twitch hasn’t really said much about how TwitchCon went overall, but they did tweet something about the awful attack on Emiru. Dan Clancy, the CEO, talked about it too, but honestly, his response just made things worse and people are really upset with how he handled it.
