This year marks the 35th anniversary of David Lynch’s iconic television series, commonly known as “Twin Peaks.” Collaboratively created with Mark Frost, it led to the 2017 release of “Twin Peaks: The Return,” a limited event series. Starting June 13, you can stream both the original 1990 series and the limited event series on MUBI.
According to the latest news, streaming service MUBI has obtained the rights for the Emmy-winning series Twin Peaks. This show revolved around FBI agent Dale Cooper, who was probing the mysterious murder of Laura Palmer in the peculiar town of Twin Pecks. Over its two-season airtime, it managed to win two Emmys and featured actors like Michael Ontkean, Mädchen Amick, Dana Ashbrook, Lara Flynn Boyle, Peggy Lipton, Richard Beymer, and Warren Frost in significant roles.
The Complete Franchise on MUBI
MUBI subscribers can stream the entire original Twin Peaks series (consisting of 30 episodes) and the entire 18-part Limited Series, which was an exclusive to Showtime and directed by the late David Lynch. This latter series picks up with Dale Cooper and his companions 25 years after the death of Laura Palmer.
Katharin Feistauer, MUBI’s Vice President of Global Programming, expressed her excitement as the platform will now feature not one but two versions of Twin Peaks – a long-cherished desire. This includes one of television history’s most acclaimed and debated series,” she said, confirming that MUBI acquired the rights to the series from Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Feistauer went on to say, “Though we’ve been preparing for this release for months, the recent passing of David Lynch has made this chance to share his legendary work even more poignant. We’re thrilled to give our members, who are fans of Lynch, a comprehensive rewatch experience, and also offer a first-time viewing opportunity for those yet to discover it.

Lynch’s Final Resting Place Revealed
Due to a persistent lung ailment, this was the man’s pre-existing health issue. His ashes were laid to rest, and more recently, his daughter, Jennifer Lynch, shared a picture of his burial site on her social media platform.
Her message was, ‘Dad is peacefully resting at Hollywood Forever Cemetery; drop by when you have the chance, I will too.’ She posted this alongside a picture of Lynch’s grave, which bears the phrase ‘Night Booming Jasmine’. This phrase held special meaning for the late director of ‘Blue Velvet’, as he mentioned in his 2016 interview with Magazine.
Speaking about flying into Los Angeles during the evening, it’s a breathtaking sight, with miles upon miles of lights stretching out – truly stunning. However, hidden within this rapid image are places that evoke memories. You may recall, on a warm summer or perhaps spring night, driving to specific locations where if you catch a whiff of night-blooming jasmine, it seems as though Clark Gable or Gloria Swanson could be just around the corner. The golden era of Hollywood lives on in certain atmospheres within this city, deeply embedded in its very essence,” Lynch commented at that time.
Twin Peaks and Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series will debut on MUBI on June 13.
