If you’ve enjoyed rewatching the Twilight movies repeatedly with your Netflix subscription, it might be wise to cherish each scene as they won’t stay for much longer. You may have noticed if you’ve selected one of the titles from the series recently, the ominous “leaving soon” tag is present, and devotees of these vampire films are growing increasingly frustrated by this announcement.
The Twilight Movies Are Officially Leaving Netflix… Again
Well, here’s some exciting news! The Twilight movies are back on Netflix starting from early May, but their stay is quite brief – they’ll be gone by June 30th. So, these films will have graced Netflix’s library for merely two months before moving on to another streaming platform. Here’s a snippet of a comment about this news:
There’s a lot more where that came from. Here are even more complaints on Twitter over the move:
- “Why tf twilight series already leaving Netflix it just got here” – @jackiecopee
- “Someone please give Twilight a permanent home. I’m so sick of Netflix only wanting to be a weekend parent.” – @starjowers
- “what’s with this weird on & off, toxic relationship between the twilight saga and netflix” – @leilanisrina
- “why does twilight only get put on netflix for like 5 minutes :(“ – @Dupl1na
There’s a valid argument here. Just recently, the franchise resurfaced on Netflix, and presently, viewers can only cross their fingers that the films find a home on another top-tier streaming platform, as they have done so previously.
Fans Are Understandably Not Happy With Twilight’s Unstable Streaming History
Over the last few years, I’ve noticed that the movie series “Twilight” has experienced a rather tumultuous ride among various streaming platforms. In fact, it appears to have bounced around from Disney+ to Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and even Peacock within the past year, and it rarely seems to settle down in one spot for too long.
In recent times, many films have established long-term residency on specific streaming platforms due to their production studios having direct ties with these platforms. However, the situation with the Twilight series is not as straightforward since its licensing agreements are less clear-cut.

Given the fluctuating streaming plans for the Twilight series, it could be advantageous for fans to possess their own copies of all five films, like this discounted Blu-ray collection which is currently around 50% off. Check out the deal here.
The franchise was dispersed by Summit Entertainment, a subsidiary of Lionsgate Films that doesn’t operate its own streaming platform, unlike companies such as Paramount with Paramount+ or Universal with Peacock. Consequently, series such as “The Hunger Games,” “John Wick,” and “Now You See Me” have been scattered across various streaming platforms. For instance, “The Hunger Games” was briefly available on Netflix before departing quickly, much like “Twilight.
Great news for Twilight fans! It looks like the movies will soon be available to stream on a different platform. If you prefer a physical copy, that option is always available too. Additionally, Lionsgate and Netflix are collaborating on a new animated series of Twilight, inspired by Midnight Sun. For now, don’t miss out on watching the original cinematic adaptations while they’re still airing in June!
