Try to Be Curious, Not Judgmental, About Ted Lasso Returning

As a cinephile with over three decades of watching and analyzing television shows under my belt, I must say that the news about Ted Lasso coming back for another season is music to my ears. The first two seasons were nothing short of a breath of fresh air, offering a unique blend of comedy, drama, and heartfelt moments that resonated with audiences worldwide.

It seems like the Ted Lasso series might extend its run, given the recent news that Apple TV+ has exercised options for three British cast members: Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. This means they’ll continue to be a part of the show under their contractual agreements. Rumor has it that Apple will soon reach out to the American actors, including Jason Sudeikis, Juno Temple, and Brendan Hunt, whose contracts have expired, to secure their return as well. Fingers crossed that we’ll see them all back on our screens!

Initially, the popular series “Ted Lasso” was designed for three seasons. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2021, its star Jason Sudeikis explained that the storyline’s three-season structure was something he had a clear vision of. However, the show ended in a way that left room for speculation about additional seasons, and the show’s official account teased, “It’s like I always say about David Lynch’s films. I can’t tell you what’s happening, but I sure don’t want it to end.” With the conclusion of the popular teen drama “Brat,” it remains to be seen how well “Ted Lasso” will resonate in a post-“Brat” era. Stay tuned for updates when we revisit our Trump-core package in 20 years.
