President Trump recently shared more information about the Patriot Games, a sporting event the White House is supporting as a major part of the celebrations for America’s 250th birthday in 2026.
Former President Trump announced the event as part of his Freedom 250 plans, scheduled for June 25 to July 10, 2026. In a social media video, he highlighted the ‘Patriot Games’ as a key event during the anniversary celebrations in Washington, DC.
The president announced that the Patriot Games will be a four-day sports event for high school athletes from every state and territory in the US. Each state and territory will send one boy and one girl to compete.

Trump reiterated his stance against transgender athletes participating in women’s sports when making his announcement.
He assured everyone that men would not be allowed to compete in women’s sports, stating it simply wouldn’t happen.
What else is part of Freedom 250?
Although the specific details aren’t available yet, the Patriot Games are planned to happen at the same time as other ‘Freedom 250’ celebrations. These will include a parade honoring soldiers who have died and a big fireworks show on the National Mall.
