If there exists a circle in hell reserved for the ostentatious display of digital pecuniary growth, surely the Tron blockchain holds a suite there by now—USDT and USDC are piling up in such exuberant fashion that even Gatsby would blush. One might imagine Jay Lookonchain leaning against a marble mantelpiece, nonchalantly remarking that Tron has managed to swell its stablecoin coffers by $2.17 billion in but a single week. If this is not a bull market in self-regard, I know not what is.
Picture it: Tether, with the imperious air of a Victorian matron at a debutante ball, minting another billion USDT on Tron—for it is now sporting $71.7 billion in total supply, making the Bank of England look positively parsimonious. Since late January, they’ve conjured $12 billion—one wonders whether they’re using magic, or merely the blockchain.
Nor does the merry torrent stop. The week past saw $623 million worth of USDT and USDC saunter onto Tron, while the previous week trumpeted a still more lavish arrival—$1.52 billion. At this point, one would not be astonished if the coins began minting themselves, presumably out of sheer boredom.
Meanwhile, the perspicacious oracles at Nansen observe, with the dry wit befitting their analytic prowess, that Tron is “owning the fee game.” One suspects Solana, ‘creeping behind’ with all the grace of an envious younger sibling, polishes its shoes in anticipation. 🕵️♂️
Fees abound: Tron lounging atop $11.7 million in sumptuous transactional costs in the last seven days; Solana, the eager understudy, posting $8.75 million; and Ethereum, aristocratic and aloof, managing only $4.75 million but doubtless charging extra for the pleasure.
TRX itself, meanwhile, is trading at a dignified $0.246. Price steady, mood positively giddy. The asset, ranked 10th in crypto’s glitzy beauty pageant, remains unmoved, unruffled, and, dare we say, slightly amused by it all. One cannot help but wonder: do blockchains dream of electric lamborghinis? 🤑
