Travis Kelce Circling Starring Role in Action-Comedy ‘Loose Cannons’ From Lionsgate, 87Eleven Entertainment

As a seasoned moviegoer with a penchant for action-comedies and an unparalleled knack for spotting rising stars, I’m genuinely intrigued by Travis Kelce’s venture into leading roles. With his NFL career nearing its twilight, it seems he’s eager to make a mark in Tinseltown – and who am I to stand in the way of ambition?

It looks like Travis Kelce could potentially be stepping into the spotlight as a leading actor. The tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs is in negotiations to spearhead the action-comedy “Loose Cannons” at Lionsgate. Notably, the director of the “John Wick” series, Chad Stahelski, has signed on to produce through his 87Eleven Entertainment production company, with Alex Young and Jazon Spitz also producing. Tim Dowling will be penning the script.

It appears that the start of the production is still some time away, since Kelce has the upcoming NFL season starting in just two weeks to focus on first.

Over the last few years, I’ve made a transition from the NFL gridiron to the world of Hollywood, and it all started with my podcast “New Heights,” which I co-host with my brother, Jason Kelce, who recently retired from the Philadelphia Eagles. However, my romantic relationship with Taylor Swift has catapulted me into a new level of celebrity fame in the past year. This fall, I’ll be stepping into the host role for the game show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” and will also appear in a supporting role within Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX series “Grotesquerie,” set to premiere on Sept. 25.

The film titled “Loose Cannons” from 1990 was a crime caper starring Gene Hackman and Dan Aykroyd, directed by Bob Clark. This movie featured a cop partnering with a detective suffering from multiple-personality disorder to track down a previously unknown Nazi sex tape involving Adolf Hitler. Despite its unique plot, the film didn’t do well at the box office initially. It’s important to note that Kelce’s debut production is not a remake of this Tristar release despite sharing the same title. Instead, this new version revolves around two cops with unstable personalities who are forced to work together in an attempt to reform them both.

As a film fanatic with a soft spot for comedy, I’ve left my mark in the genre with movies like “Role Models” and “Office Christmas Party,” and even collaborated on some projects starring Adam Sandler, such as “Just Go With It” and “Pixels.” On the other hand, David Leitch, known for his action-packed masterpieces, has a longstanding partnership with Lionsgate, having directed all four installments of the “John Wick” series. He’s also set to reimagine the classic “Highlander” for the studio in an upcoming project.
