Torbjorn is the Overwatch 2 Hero You Should Be Afraid Of

Generally speaking, there’s broad consensus among players that Sojourn is overpowered and requires balance adjustments. Her recent perk updates have made her even more dominant. Interestingly enough, there’s another hero that has been dominating matches quite a bit as well, coming in at a close second.

Ever since Overwatch 2 dropped, Sojourn’s been a go-to pick for many teams, almost always gracing top tiers. Her reliable damage output coupled with the punch from her railgun makes her an indispensable asset for most team compositions. I can’t imagine a game without her!

Despite losing her ability to instantly eliminate enemies when supported by Mercy, she remains extremely challenging to face in battle. However, there’s a strong contender for second place – a hero who has often been underestimated but can become a formidable force with the right Perks: Torbjorn.

Furthermore, although this character has been widely praised for his skills on consoles due to their challenging aiming mechanics, he’s now dominating the PC gaming arenas as well.

Torbjorn would be breaking Overwatch 2 if Sojourn was worse

In the time since Overwatch’s initial launch in 2016, Torbjorn has undergone significant changes. Initially, his primary role was to bolster his turret and maintain control over a chokepoint with it. Remarkably, there are video clips dating back a decade that show his turret earning the “play of the game” award without him even moving.

Luckily, the character has become much more complex these days, yet remains incredibly user-friendly. Notably, he offers substantial rewards for minimal input, which has been the case for some time now.

For quite some time now, Torbjorn has been an exceptional choice due to his lack of damage drop-off on his primary weapon, high base health, consistent DPS through his turret, and the ability to wipe out entire enemy teams with his ultimate. Since Overwatch 2 was released, Torbjorn has undergone numerous improvements, all of which have cumulatively made him a formidable pick for several seasons running.

For some time now, the shortest hero in Overwatch has been a secretively effective choice. However, why is he more impressive in Season 15 compared to previous seasons?

Simply put, Torb’s Perks are really good, especially his level 3 ones.

Using Fully Loaded’s minor perk is usually your top choice due to its ability to bypass reload times. This can make for an exciting and efficient experience as you charge towards the enemy team’s frontline, continuously attacking with a single click.

Regarding the primary advantages, both choices are excellent. The overloaded turret won’t last too long, but from its upgraded variant, it can provide you with two to three powerful missile attacks before the boost period ends, dealing significant damage.

When it comes to Anchor Bolts, that’s where the main annoyance lies. Against characters like Sombra, Tracer, and Cassidy who have substantial damage drop-offs, this turret seems almost invincible. It can become inaccessible to a large number of Overwatch 2 heroes, making it a real headache to eliminate.

Torbjorn’s turret won’t heal if it’s placed high up like on a three-story building, but it’s likely that opponents can’t reach it either. Given how powerful his basic abilities are without the turret, having the option to deploy and forget about it is quite advantageous.

Should Sojourn undergo a balancing adjustment, which seems imminent, keep an eye on Torbjorn. With potential changes to Sojourn, Torbjorn could dominate the gameplay entirely if not closely monitored.
