Top 3 Must-Watch Netflix Shows This Weekend: January 16–18, 2026

This weekend, January 16–18, 2026, Netflix has some great shows to watch! You can catch up with a favorite comedy that’s back for a new season, enjoy the final episodes of a classic show, or dive into a brand-new mystery thriller that’s quickly becoming popular worldwide.

As a total movie and TV buff, let me tell you, if you’re after something to really dive into – whether it’s a quick night of watching or a series you can get completely lost in all weekend – I’ve got three Netflix recommendations that won’t let you down. Seriously, these are the shows everyone’s going to be talking about!

The Upshaws

The popular comedy series The Upshaws wrapped up its run on Netflix with the release of its seventh and final season on January 15th. All twelve episodes, including the last one ever, are now available to stream, bringing the show’s total run to 72 episodes.

Starring Mike Epps, Kim Fields, and Wanda Sykes, The Upshaws is a funny new sitcom about the Upshaw family – a working-class Black family in Indiana. It centers on Bernard and Regina Upshaw, who are just trying to raise their kids and provide a good life. If you enjoy classic sitcoms and want a good laugh, The Upshaws is definitely worth watching.

House of Lies

If you’re a fan of the Showtime series House of Lies, you have less than 10 days to watch it on Netflix! The show, starring Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell, and Ben Schwartz, will be removed from the streaming service on Saturday, January 24th. Now’s your chance to binge-watch this funny and dramatic series before it’s gone.

Running from 2012 to 2016 with five seasons and 58 episodes, House of Lies remains a popular show with many fans. Don Cheadle stars as a charming consultant who, along with his team – including Jeannie played by Bell and Clyde played by Schwartz – works to finalize major business deals. If you’re looking for a funny and edgy comedy, House of Lies is worth watching on Netflix while it’s still available.

Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials

If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, the new 3-part mystery thriller, Seven Dials, based on an Agatha Christie story, is already gaining popularity on Netflix and could become the platform’s most-watched show worldwide. It premiered on January 15th.

I was totally surprised by how quickly Seven Dials blew up! It jumped right to number two on Netflix’s global charts, right after last week’s big thriller, His & Hers. It’s based on a classic Agatha Christie novel, and at two hours and forty-one minutes, it’s the perfect length for a cozy night in and a one-sitting watch.

Mia McKenna-Bruce stars as Lady Eileen “Bunlde” Brent in Seven Dials, a new Agatha Christie mystery set in 1925 England. Featuring Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman, this is the must-watch show on Netflix this weekend.
