As a passionate cinephile, I’d say: “This movie takes us through eight intense days in the life of Jack (Schnabel), a struggling fitness coach in LA. Driven by his pursuit of the American Dream, he embarks on an exhilarating, rollercoaster journey that’s anything but easy.
The film is produced by Kaye, Schnabel and Jeremy Steckler (“Spiderhead,” “Doom”).
13 Films president, Tannaz Anisi, expressed enthusiasm about presenting “The Trainer” and a supposedly stellar cast, stating: “For the first time in years, we believe this production will grace the Croisette with one of the most high-profile ensembles. Tony Kaye’s innovative direction is evident through his intense creative partnership with Vito Schnabel, establishing it as a notable addition to Kaye’s esteemed body of work.
13 Films will additionally showcase debut screenings at the market for the critically acclaimed film “A Nice Indian Boy,” featuring Karan Soni, known from the “Deadpool” series and the upcoming “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” as well as Jonathan Groff, recognized for his roles in “Hamilton” and “The Matrix Resurrections.” Moreover, “Beneath” will be presented, starring Olga Kurylenko (upcoming “Thunderbolts” and “Oblivion”), Jenny Seagrove (“Peripheral,” “Nate and Hayes”), with more freshly announced films joining the lineup at Cannes’ Marché du Film in March.
