Tony Hawk’s Underground recently got a fun update! Tony Hawk himself recreated the game’s opening scene, stepping into the role of the player character and facing off against the classic villain, Eric Sparrow. He shared the clip on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, surprising fans with a short, self-starring remake.
Hawk created this video simply to share some happiness and mark National Video Games Day. The video’s title also made it clear it wasn’t a preview for a remastered game, disappointing those who were hoping for one.

The recent video is a nostalgic look back at the popular THUG skateboarding game, but it’s not a hint that a remake is in the works. Tony Hawk has expressed interest in a remastered version, but the decision isn’t his to make.
Tony Hawk is still determined to revive the skateboarding game series. He believes that if the recent success of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 continues, Microsoft and Activision might be willing to invest in future installments.
It’s been an excellent year for skateboarding game enthusiasts! We’ve seen the return of classic Tony Hawk titles, and now EA’s Skate is making a comeback with an early access launch. The free-to-play game arrives on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on September 16th, offering a revamped control system called ‘Flick-it’ and a huge city to skate around in.
