Tony Hawk Himself Wants A Remaster Of Underground

As a fellow enthusiast, I can relate to the yearning for additional remasters of those iconic Tony Hawk skateboarding games we all love. Interestingly enough, Tony Hawk himself shares this desire, but as he recently revealed in an interview, the decision doesn’t rest with him alone.

According to Screen Rant, Tony Hawk expressed his hopes for a remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Underground (2003), but emphasized that the decision is typically not in his hands.

In essence, Hawk declared his intention to put forth his best efforts in advocating for the project. However, he emphasized that the final decision lies with Activision, stating, “I’m collaborating with a larger, more intelligent company.

Hawk mentioned that so far, there’s been no discussion about remastering Underground. However, he noted that the success of Pro Skater 3 and 4 could influence the direction of the series in the future.

Back in 2020, Activision had already launched updated versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2. This game was a hit financially, and the following two games in the series will be released together as remakes this coming July.

Meanwhile, beneath the surface, the game was designed by Neversoft and introduced an innovative twist by enabling players to design their own characters and traverse levels on foot for exploration. A subsequent installment was released in 2004.

Microsoft has taken over the ownership of the skateboarding series, a move that comes after they purchased Activision in a massive deal worth approximately $75.4 billion.
