Dream later responded, but didn’t bite back. Instead, he offered his condolences.
I’m truly sorry for your grief, as I recently experienced the sudden passing of both my grandfathers within the past year. It was an incredibly difficult time for me. Knowing that you were able to be with him in his last moments brings me some comfort. I hope you are coping well during this tough period.
Yet, his response wasn’t without criticism either, as one widely appreciated comment suggested that Tommy seemingly did not desire a response from Dream.

It’s not right for you to respond when it’s evident he prefers not to engage in conversation. To make the situation seem more compassionate would be quite distasteful. Instead, respect the other person’s emotions and don’t manipulate them for personal gain.
